TECH CENTRAL INNOVATION HUB
CODE OF CONDUCT

PURPOSE

The purpose of our building is to create jobs. We do this by helping startups to grow. And for this community to work best, we need to make sure we’re all on the same page.

At Tech Central Innovation Hub, we’re committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or religion.

Our code of conduct outlines expectations for everyone in our building. It’s up to the respective organisations on each floor to ensure everyone abides by our Code and help keep our community members feeling safe and welcome every day.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR

Here are a few points we can all agree on:

  • There is a place for everyone in the Hub and everyone is welcome.
  • Be a champion of the Hub. We’re lucky to be here, so let’s make sure the outside world is impressed by those who are.
  • Level 1 isn’t for permanent residency; it’s designed to be a pop-in pop-out space. If you require a regular weekly or bi-weekly desk, please get in touch with one of the incubators – Fishburners, Stone & Chalk or Tank Stream Labs. Regular visitors may be asked to reduce their visits or refrain from using Level 1.
  • Mix it up and connect with people from different spaces – it’s why we’re all in the same building.
  • Let’s forge something to be proud of: knock down ideas and then build them into something better. Be prepared to have your own ideas knocked down too.
  • While disagreements will occur, let’s remember to keep it civil.
  • Be kind, always. Demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech is not okay and won’t be tolerated (in person or online).
  • No stealing; not ideas, not data, not things.
  • If you make a mess, please tidy it up — including toilets!
  • Please don’t leave your belongings unattended, including in meeting rooms. Unattended belongings will be collected and held at the Concierge desk.
  • Something not right? Please let us know straight away via the Concierge on Level 1 or call 000 in case of an emergency.

UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR

We want everyone to love coming to the Hub, and we expect people to behave as they would at any reasonable workplace. Members or visitors violating the rules may be banned from participating in the Tech Central Innovation Hub.

While we could provide you with a long list of examples, the reality is unacceptable behaviour can take many forms. Examples of what won’t be tolerated include:

  • Offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, race, religion.
  • Harassment, intimidation or humiliation.
  • Unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention.
  • Any type of illegal behaviour.
  • Smoking (strictly forbidden).
  • Alcohol consumption (not allowed unless provided by Eurest, our trusted catering company).

CONSEQUENCES OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR

Unacceptable behaviour from any Tech Central Innovation Hub member, team member or visitor won’t be tolerated.

If a person in the Hub engages in unacceptable behaviour, we may take any action deemed appropriate, up to and including a temporary ban or permanent ban from the Hub.

GENERAL MATTERS TO BE AWARE OF

SECURITY CAMERAS

To keep everyone safe, we have closed-circuit television operating at all times at Tech Central Innovation Hub. There are cameras located on each floor and recording at all times to monitor for any theft, trespass or unauthorised behaviour of people on the premises. Tech Central Innovation Hub staff may inspect the footage on the cameras at any time.

MEETING AND EVENT ROOM BOOKINGS ON LEVEL 1

Event spaces are available for startup usage. In the first instance, it’s best to check with the organisation that you are a member of to understand how you can access the space and at what cost.

Meeting rooms can be booked via the NOW YOU CAN booking app. Please check with your organisation to set this up. You are able to book a meeting room for a maximum of 90 minutes per day. Please leave the room in a fair state for the next person.

Cancellations of any event space may incur a charge.

REPORTING GUIDELINES

If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please notify us at the Concierge desk on Level 1 as soon as possible. If it’s an emergency, please call 000.

THANK YOU

We all love working at Tech Central Innovation Hub, so thanks for abiding by our Code of Conduct and keeping our space enjoyable for everyone.
